190E Evo II — the three-day yellow
A works Mercedes that was not silver, for exactly one race. Almost the entire plate is a single colour, and that is the point.

Reading the geometry
In November 1990 the works Evo II was airlifted to South Africa for the Yellow Pages 200 at Kyalami, an invitational DTM round. The sponsorship that paid for the freight wanted the car yellow, and it was wrapped — not painted — in three days. Roland Asch won the second heat and the race overall.
It is also the first competitive win by a touring car running race-specification ABS, developed jointly by Mercedes-Benz and Bosch. A genuine engineering milestone, arriving in the loudest possible disguise.
There is almost no geometry to record: a single saturated field, a thin blue line under the glasshouse, and a blue sill band. That is the honest reading. A one-race wrap has no time to develop a scheme, and this plate shows what that actually looks like.
